This blog post is dedicated to one of our alumni brother named Kanda Swamy who is mentioned here as Kandy for easiness. Kandy belongs to 1994-97 batch of KNHS.
From the few days since we have known each other, his support has been immense. Always messaging on a regular basis, and on the phone he did promise maximum support in finding his old classmates.
Today morning he did call to inform that he had managed to find 22 of his old classmates. Wow! What an achievement! Our hearts go out to him in thankfulness. His dedication, perseverance and commitment are appreciated with full sincerity. May more enthusiasts like him grow in our Alumni association.
In this blog, at the bottom most page there is a number which shows the total number of visitors who viewed this blog. Its truly a matter of both happiness and concern while seeing this number. Happiness for having had decent number of visitors, and concern because, excepting one person no one has left a comment. Sharing your views is of paramount importance to "us". This "us", doesn’t indicate a breed above any of you or other old students of our school.
Anyone who is interested to support the purpose of the Alumni association can take centre stage. Till now, there are no stage managers in the real sense. The seats are up for grabs for the true enterprising individual. We hope to have more Kandys amongst us and less of Candyfloss.

23 Year Old Tree
Among the trees standing inside the compound of KNHS, one was planted by our class, when we were studying in Class-VIII. Hope that tree is still standing tall and strong. There were atleast 3 to 4 saplings that were distributed class-wise during that occassion a few weeks after shifting to that new complex.
Earlier our high school was functioning from an old building quite nearby to the present one, nearer to H.A.L. Kalyana mantapa. That building was quite dilapilated, and we were so excited to move into the new building. Once we were allotted the classes, we awed at the new furniture and fresh smell of the walls. The board was new and one student wanted to be the first one to write on it.
When the teacher came to the class, he had already missed the opportunity of writing on the fresh board. There was a little trouble at hand for us, but none of us volunteered to show the person who wrote on it. And the teacher's patience to stick to finding the mischief monger gave way, and hence we were spared.
The tree planting was quite a good thing that the school took initiative in. Having us students to participate in the planting of the sapling was quite special for us. Wish to see that tree when we all meet sometime soon for the get-together. There will be many stories to share between each of us. Cant wait for the day to come.

Complacency is Our Greatest Enemy
For most of us to sustain the initial levels of commitment in any endeavour is a tough call. In our context, it has been observed that the initial energy levels shown by some of the alumni has dipped in a quantifiable manner.
We have to be always watchful for this enemy called complacency. We all hope things will go on nice and fine, which isn't the case. Perseverance pays, and complacency kills! Every one of us needs to be alive to this reality. Its our humble request to you all to keep the efforts live in finding our untraced classmates.
Three days back, a letter has been shot to our school's present principal Ms.Ramani. A peek preview of the things that are happening with our networking i.r.o our Alumni association has been briefed. We also need to invite some of our old teachers who have since retired, to participate in the Grand Re-Union meeting that we are planning.
The great distances involved between each of the active members among us proves a big challenge for giving effective direction to our efforts. This obstacle can be crossed if we all involve in communication. Please let us know if u have found your old classmates. Help us update the database of the Alumni. Each of us need to work harder. Let us not fall prey to complacency.

Yesterday was a long day
The whole power of a blog is defeated when the blog cant be tracked using a search engine. When we searched in Google with the key words "Kairalee Nilayam High School", a whole lot of unconnected sites showed up.
It was bit painful as our blog couldn't get crawled by the search engine. Then few hours were spent learning how to increase the visibility of a blog. Some key changes were made, and some improvement has been seen. The improvement being, when one types "knhsalumni" without any gap, this blog and our twitter address opens up, and that too on the first page. Its because we have scant knowledge in this field. Anyone who would be able to help us better, can render their services. Waiting to hear from volunteers.
Regarding the future of our Alumni association, there is still a whole distance to go, if our plans are to be actioned. A Website for our Kairalee Nilayam High School Alumni Association needs to be started. This is currently put on hold. Once the re-union happens, we will get a fair idea as to where we stand. Depending on the enthusiasm and involvement displayed by our friends, our future plans can be chalked out. Only sky is the limit, on what we can make this alumni to be, if everyone is willing to get together. The prospects are immense, and time will reveal our true potential.

To Ramani Miss: With Love
Ramani Miss, used to be our class teacher in Class-IX. The very way of addressing our teacher as "Miss" would have become obsolete now. Ma'am is the more apt word, but in our student days, in most of the schools the word "Miss" was in vogue.
Our beloved Ramani Miss, used to teach us geography and English. Ofcourse she was a very good teacher, quite professional et al. It's when we got to know that she really wanted to see our old students to organise ourselves into an association, that we took it as a decree from her. Her wishes need to be respected. Lets pledge our support to see that KNHS Alumni will grow to be a force to reckon with.
Almost everyday, we are getting atleast 2 new people, who are wanting to join this alumni. The word of mouth is also a potent weapon in our hands. Lets use it for the benefit of our Alumni association. If we all love our teachers and school, we should also do something for this Old Student's Association. Just helping ourselves find our long lost friends is the best service we can do now. Thats the best way to honour our beloved teacher's wish.

Silence is Golden
God knows who said the words "Silence is Golden". But its apt for one group of people, who hardly talk, but do their work. But when we are only silent in both "words and action", Silence can never be considered Golden.
We have been expecting feed back from you through these blogs, where there is a provision to give ur comments at the bottom of this blog post. If havent been reading these blogs, its another matter. But once u read it, plz let us know whether u liked the write up or not. We are all amateur in this field. There is enough scope for improvement, where there is good hearted criticism.
Its beens such a great feeling to interact with all of you through mail and a few of u through sms and calls. The happiness in the tone and tenor of your speech and mails are understandable. This needs some hard action from your side, apart from being just happy. We all need to find our untraced classmates. We have taken it upon ourselves, the responsibility of making this Re-union meeting a grand success.
With your participation and support, along with the almighty's blessings, we hope for good times ahead.

Unexpected Gain
Today there was an unexpected gain to our database of old students. During a routine call made to a friend in Bangalore, i asked him if he knew anybody who studied in my school. He knew a guy who studied in KNHS. He was known to me since many years but i realised only today that he is an ex-student of my school. I can depend upon him for some real head hunting because of my long association with him. Another person who got added in to our list today has also promised to find his classmates of 94-97 batch. This kind of enthusiasm needs to be sustained till we track all our friends.

The Dynamics of Time
Hi friends. With your permission, this author would like to drive home a point regarding the dynamics of time.
We have a goal in hand, i.e. having a grand re-union meeting for our school. It may take for eg:- 1000 man-hours to accomplish this goal. If there are only two persons who are willing to work towards the goal, each of them will have to put in 500 hrs. If everyday 2 hrs can be spared, this goal will be reached in 250 days.
If we have 10 volunteers working instead of two, the goal is achieved in 50 days. And the job is accomplished with greater satisfaction too. Having said that, its also a fact that time is ever in short supply for most of us. Still one can devote a few minutes in the weekends, to find other possible friends/classmates from our contacts.
Since we have embarked on this journey, lets join our hands and make this association a grand success. Like in the previous blog post, the soldier's tale need not be repeated. It only needs a little commitment from each of us, a showing of love for the school which groomed us, a yearning to meet old friends, a longing to seek blessings from our teachers and just for the sake of love for one's childhood.
Looking forward to hear from you all, through comments. Share your piece of mind about the blog. Bouquets or brick-bats, everything is welcome.

A Soldier's Tale
Around 14 years back, a soldier thought of catching up with his old friends when he came on leave. This guy wanted to meet his old friends. He discussed his wish of meeting his old classmates in school, with his two friends. These friends who studied with this soldier were excited too. They spent around 2 weeks tracking their old friends. They managed to track around 40 classmates. A day was fixed for the re-union meeting. On a Sunday the re-union meeting took place in the same classroom in which they had studied in their 10th. But only around 25 turned up for the re-union. The poor soldier and his friends were disappointed with the poor turnout. After that no more re-unions took place for their class. This soldier happened to be a student of KNHS.

Database of Old Students is Growing
It took eight hours to send scraps to around 250 users of our School's community in Orkut. The initial response was luke warm. Things kept improving day by day to respectable levels. But we believe there is still lot of scope for improving our score before August, when we are planning for the grand Re-union.
Direct face to contact is not possible most of the times. What all of us can do is, try to locate our classmates through known friends. It may eat up a few minutes of your time, but the prospect of meeting one's old classmates is too good to resist.
Two days back a new twitter account for our school has been started. To keep up with the times, the need of all kind of instruments was felt. We are looking forward to your earnest support in this endeavour of finding long lost friends. Everyone needs to put in a little effort for this. This is being reiterated, so that none of us feels that a few people will manage the show.
The scales are big, and no one person will be able to pull this off with any amount of ease. The younger generation have been little more easier to trace. We at KNHS Alumni are ready to make calls to any part of the world if a prospective Alumni can be found.
Day by day, the database of old students is increasing. Kindly put in your bit, so that we can make this thing big and successful.

No Fence Sitting Please
From April to august its only four months. In this time the KNHS alumni needs to grow in size and effectiveness. Every kind of contribution by means of spreading word about this group will help us increase the meaning of our alumni association. Every passing day has been exciting till now with new people enquiring and also getting on to the bandwagon. We are trying our level best at our individual levels to spread the net far and wide. We are sure everyone of us excitedly is looking forward to the day we all shall meet. This will come to pass with great amount of success with your increased involvement. No movement can gain momentum without active participation of its members. Lets become one of the few schools in Bangalore which has a credible body of alumni members. There are still some fence sitters. We would love to have them amongst us without wasting anymore time. We have it in us, its just that we need to push ourselves a little harder for greater victory.

Kairalee Nilayam High School Old Students' Association
A hearty and warm welcome to the alumni of Kairalee Nilayam High School (Vimanapura), Bangalore.
Re-union meeting of old students is an emotional affair, which most of us look forward to. Though everybody does want to meet their classmates, the whole exercise of finding one's old classmates poses a great challenge. After School, few close friends keep in touch for a while, and then with time these relationships get frittered away. Only an exceptionally few keep in touch with each other, through the years.
Our School hasn't had an old student's association till date. The requirement has been felt since long, but everything needs the right time to blossom. Probably the time is now, and we need to capitalise.
A huge task is ahead of us, for getting this structure stand on its legs. Batch-wise, old students need to be catergorised and for that some of us need to stretch a bit, and take some pain. As u are reading this blog, we would like to request you to help us find your classmates. With everyone putting in little efforts, we would be able to manage a good database of our old classmates.. You can share your views by mailing us at knhs.alumni@gmail.com
Keep following this blog, for more in the offing....... and don't forget to leave your comments.
